Closing of the Bones Ceremony

Traditionally given to women in the postpartum period across many world cultures, this ceremony also honors the closing of any significant chapter in a person's life, such as a move, relationship, death, career change, etc., and is appropriate for both women and men.

The ceremony physically and energetically closes one's engagement with that chapter, with honor and gratitude, allowing that person to acknowledge, process, be seen, and then move forward freely. The Closing of the Bones is a beautiful context in which to hold each other through life.

In the case of a traditional postpartum ceremony, attendees should include only girls and women (the newborn is welcome!) This is most often given at 4-6 weeks postpartum.

Lauren has been initiated to lead this ceremony, training with Darcie Azarian and a lineage of dedicated women, and brings forward its deep holding in times of transition. She will come to your home, or host at Rooted Free Farm, where you will gather loved ones you wish to be present. She will provide all items, and lead all participants through an intuitively individualized ceremony, which will run for 1-3 hours. We will discuss the details of what you wish your ceremony to encompass.

The starting donation amount is $100 (plus a $30 travel cost for in-home ceremonies). If you are in a position to give more, and feel moved to do so, we greatly appreciate your support in keeping these ancient ways alive.

Do this for your deserving Self, or give as a really special gift for someone you care about!
